Quality cars are part of our mantra here at Hendrick Kia of Concord, and we are pleased to announce that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the 2015 Kia Soul a Top Safety pick.
The Soul scored well in IIHS standard evaluations, including moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints and seat safety tests, as well as front crash test ratings, which simulates what happens when the car strikes an object, such as a tree or a pole.
The IIHS also said in a statement that the 2015 Soul features a strong front end and occupant compartment. "The driver space was maintained reasonably well with a small amount of intrusion," IIHS reported. "The dummy's movement was well controlled, and its head hit the frontal airbag, which stayed in position during the crash."
In addition to a Top Safety Pick nod, the Kia Soul is seeing many spin-offs, including the eco-friendly Kia Soul EV, launched earlier this year. Kia also recently announced that it will release a high-performance Soul model featuring a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the Kia Forte SX Turbo.
If safety is one of your top priorities in searching for a new car, come down to 7550 Hendrick Auto Plaza NW in Concord, NC and test drive one of our Kia Souls today.
